Sara Rockbell, also known as Sara Elric, is the six-year-old child of Edward Elric and Winry Rockbell, born and raised during Edward's sojourn in Europe. She has arrived in this "world" while her father and her Uncle Al were having an argument, after she sought refuge from the noise in her closet and stumbled right through the back of it into the Nexus.

Another crash resounded from downstairs. Ed winced and rolled over to plant his face in the pillow. Whatever was going on downstairs, maybe if he pretended to still be asleep…
Without warning, something heavy landed in the middle of his back.
“Oof!” he gasped into the pillow. The weight rolled off, and he lifted his head blearily to regard a pair of blue eyes, looking back at him from about an inch away.
“Don’t make a habit of that, okay?” he asked, a bit weakly. “I like my ribs.”
“You’re still in bed?” Sara asked, a bit incredulously. “It’s ten o’clock.”
Ed made a face and fumbled on the bedside table for the alarm clock, squinting at it doubtfully. She was right; it was already a few minutes after ten.
“You can tell time?” he murmured, impressed.
“I can tell plenty of stuff,” Sara said proudly, climbing under the blankets next to him and settling comfortably against his side. “If you’re still sleeping, I’m going to sleep too.”
Ed gazed down at her, this tiny bundle of humanity curled up next to him, sharing his pillow and his life and the particular shape of his ears, and didn’t know quite what to say. Hesitantly, he laid his head back on the pillow, and shifted position slightly so that Sara’s knee wasn’t poking into his ribs.
The little girl made a contented noise and tucked her head under his chin. Her hair was amazingly soft, almost downy. Ed smiled and closed his eyes.
